Jesus, Java & Jewels Ruth 3:11

I have never been a woman to take the easy road in life. Sometimes that has worked to my advantage while other times…well let’s just say that by the grace of God I survived. When it comes to life there will always be opportunities to take the easy road. It’s the road that looks the most comfortable…smooth sailing without any ripples…but where does it lead? Robert Frost wrote, “ Two roads diverged in a wood and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”

While the easier choice maybe the most traveled, I believe that the better choice is the one that will open the the door to heaven over your life. Ruth is a great example of taking whatever life tossed her way and handled it with beauty and grace. She was willing to take a risk and step outside her comfort zone. Ruth was known for doing everything with a spirit of excellence.

I want to be just like Ruth. I want to be faithful in my everyday tasks and daring enough to step outside my comfort zone and takes risks for the possibility of receiving extraordinary blessings. As a society, I believe we have become comfortable with expecting to do very little but are handed a lot in return....kinda like those participation trophies...never have understood the concept of those and honestly, never wanted to accept one unless I felt as though I deserved it. I believe that when you decide to follow God, it comes with a lot of risks...and if we want those blessings He has for us then we must to the uncomfortable to follow Him. When we follow Him, there is no great reward than what He has to offer us...His blessings are truly extraordinary.
