If Motherhood has taught me anything, it has thought me PATIENCE. Growing up, my mama constantly reminded me that "patience is a virtue". I really wasn't clear as to why it was a virtue until I became a mama. You see before I had zero patience. Frustration was my preferred virtue. For example excessive waiting, constant interruptions, mistakes that could have been avoided...all of these resulted in frustration not patience.
When I discovered there was a formula for patience, I was amazing at how quickly my life began to turn around. The formula is in Romans 5:3....Tribulations produce patience. It seems easier than it looks...kinda like those Geometry formulas. I began thinking about all the times God has given me opportunities to develop patience, but yet I allowed frustration to take over. I am a firm believer that mindset is everything and when you have the Holy Spirit living inside you then you have everything you need to overcome frustration and replace it with patience.
Now, waiting in a long line, waiting to be called back for an appointment, numerous questions, last minute schedule changes...I could go on and on...things that I once found frustrating are now appreciated. When those things come up, I simple pray for strength and thank the Lord for yet another opportunity to learn patience.
