Jesus, Java & Jewels Matthew 18:3

Change is the most constant thing in our life...don't be quick to respond...give it some thought...again, change is the most constant thing in our life. My husband and I work really hard to get our lives into a place that is comfortable and kinda predictable...or at least as predictable as it can be with four kids and a dog...but you get the idea. In reality though, our lives are always evolving so change is inevitable and it is the only thing that allows us to grow and move forward in our life.

I find it interesting that God, who never changes and is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever...wants us to change. Why? Because He wants us to be what He dreamed we could be not what we dreamed we could be...and sense we are all "perfectly imperfect" then it only makes sense to say that change is the most constant thing in our life.

Over the past few months, our family has gone through a lot of changes....some have been pretty but most have not which brings me to why I believe that "if it's not pretty, don't put it out on the front porch for everyone to see." We have learned that embracing change or even initiating it ourselves, the better we feel able the work we are doing and the time we are focusing on each other and our kids...building an even closer relationship with each one of them and improving our walk with God. While we may not be seeing significant progress in some areas of our life, we are seeing progress in our relationship with God and each other.

We have a much better understanding of this scripture and what it means to go to God in a child-like manner. You see when you are a kid and your faith in God is so strong because you see Him as your father...we often forget that just because we grow up into adults that our faith must be modified but it doesn't. We must have that same child-like faith in order to in His kingdom...it's that faith that we can do all things through Him and that all things are possible...it's running to Him in crisis seeking His embrace and His advice.

He only wants the best for us and wants us at our best....so we must look at it as progress and not change...embrace it and give Him the Glory for working in our lives for us to be able to experience all that He has in store for us.
