Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
A week ago today, I was in recovery mode from having a colectomy. Actually, I was in a three hour surgery post-op and surrounded by some pretty special people working really hard to treat my 93 degree body temperature.
The last seven days clearly wasn’t in my plans. My plan was to check-in to the emergency room at Northern Regional Hospital with my big ole purse and what I thought to be a angry gallbladder, have a little laparoscopic procedure and walk out in a day or so free from pain. Clearly, God’s plan for me didn’t look anything like my plan.
He has definitely given me some great devotional topics that you will be able to enjoy in the coming days. He gave me some “ah-ha”moments that I am certain you will be able to relate to. He gave me some hilarious moments as my sweet husband has been by my side since I went in to the emergency room. Let me tell ya I have really held Mr. Petree to the whole “for better, for worse and in sickness and in health” of our marriage commitment. God also placed in His plan for me some really special people that I would probably have never met had I chose the path I wanted.
So in this time of giving thanks, today I am thankful for His plan in my life and from here on out my only prayer will be short and sweet…I will pray that His will be done in my life and the lives of others.
