Jesus, Java & Jewels 1 Samuel 23:16

It’s a beautiful day to save lives! It’s me, love me! You are my person! if you are a fan of Grey’s Anatomy, then you know that these are just a few memorable phrases from this long running sitcom. So far in my life, I have been blessed to have a few people that I consider to be “my person”. Of course, the obvious two are my mama and my husband…thanks to God I managed to marry someone that is exactly like my mama. I have also been blessed with two other ladies that play the “my person” role, but in different ways…one is like a bonus mama and the other more like a sister.

It‘s amazing how quickly we can be uplifted and healed because of the strength that we receive from them by simply spending time with them. The strength that we draw from them can bring emotional and physical healing. I have a small circle of friends that fulfill this important role. Some may argue that I don’t have enough, then I say to them that I have chosen quality over quantity.

It important to have a variety of friends. We don’t need friends that agree with us all the time. We need those that will look at things differently and challenges us to think more outside of the box. We also needs those that are practical and down to earth as well as creative and inspiring. Most of all we need someone that loves us unconditionally…whom we can just be ourselves and be comfortable spending time together or doing absolutely nothing. I am so very thankful for the four individuals that God has place in my life that embody all those characteristics.

You might be thinking that you don’t have anyone in your life that checks the box of the above characteristics. I have good news! You can have someone and all you have to do is to ask Him to come into your heart and committing your life to serving Him. Some might say that is impossible or I can’t be like Him…well my response is to come as you are as perfectly imperfect and allow Jesus to give you that beautiful gift of grace and become YOUR PERSON.
