HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
I realized one day that my life revolved around a schedule that was filled with doctor's appointments, swim practice, basketball practice, my jewelry business, our homeschooling activities, family time....I even scheduled specific times to breathe throughout the day. While I enjoyed starting my day with my favorite mug filled with my roast of choice all while sitting on my front porch with my bible, it was no longer a priority. I began to wonder why and then a friend of mine reminded me of something so very simple...Don't just prioritize your schedule, but schedule your priorities. Just like my side hustle or anything thing else in my life, in order for it to work, I must adapt it to my everyday life. Isn't that the whole point of having a relationship with Jesus Christ? He comes first and we adapt our life around Him? At least that is what I think. God embraces my perfectly imperfect self. As my faith in God continues to become stronger, I am realizing His will in my life. I am learning how to turn obstacles into opportunities and how to socialize outside of my usual comfort zone....it's the Great Commission...it's all for His glory! My relationship with Christ is always a work in progress. As a wife and mom, I know that Proverbs 31 sets some pretty high wife/mom goals...up I am up for the challenge.Â
The pandemic of 2020 was life changing for everyone. Social media became a platform for everything. Folks that typically had no desire to utilize this platform had no other choice but to turn to it. Before the pandemic, I had already started to carve out my spot on Facebook and Instagram. When the stay in place began, my biggest fan (my mama) encouraged me to post my devotion and a simple selfie...I called it "Jesus, Coffee & Jewels". Then a fellow Sabika consultant and a dear friend of mine (Connie), messaged me to switch "coffee" for "java"....and so it began...Jesus, Java & Jewels.
